There are 2 options to register your arXiv publication.

Option 1.
For arXiv publications with the publication date as of June 1st 2023 the preprint template is used. Working Paper | Preprint, Academic ; Access to electronic version: Open - No restriction. (After publishing your publication in arXiv, the publication is often published in a journal. The metadata of the journal article can be registered in Pure, related with the arXiv version as the Preprint record).
If you do not wish to show the preprint on the portal after the formal publication is published, you can set the visibility status of the preprint record to 'Backend - Restricted to Pure users'.

Option 2.
For arXiv publications with the publication date before June 1st 2023 the journal article template is used. Contribution to journal | Article | Scientific - Not Peer reviewed ; Access to electronic version: Open - No restriction.
(After publishing your publication in arXiv, the publication is often published in a journal. The metadata of the journal article can be registered in Pure with the arXiv version uploaded as an author's version open access. The decision whether the arXiv publication remains in Pure also is left to the author(s) of the publication).
