RESEARCH PROFILE
Zumbul conducts research in the field of supply chain management, with a primary focus on multi-echelon supply chains operating under demand and supply uncertainties. Her research aims to assess the impact of these uncertainties and to develop strategies that mitigate their effects. She formulates optimization models to integrate R-strategies into supply chain design, supporting the transition from linear to circular supply chains.
In addition, Zumbul does research on revenue management and retail operations. In particular, she is interested in understanding how retailers’ revenue management related decisions complement and substitute the supply chain management decisions.
Zumbul has been the Chair of the Operations, Planning, Accounting and Control (OPAC) Group since February, 2025. She serves as the research director of the European Supply Chain Forum's Circular Program. She is a board member of Beta Research School for Operations Management and Logistics. She represents Beta at the Graduate Program OML board.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
