RESEARCH PROFILE
Jiaxin is a PhD candidate in the Human-Technology Interaction group, specializing in human-robot interaction design. His PhD project is structured around two parallel research lines. The first investigates persuasive design for social robots, examining how individuals respond鈥攂oth psychologically and behaviorally鈥攖o different persuasive strategies. The second explores interaction design strategies that foster human-robot bonding, and how these bonds can enhance a robot鈥檚 persuasive effectiveness. His research has contributed to the International Conference on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI 2024, HRI 2025) and the International Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI 2025).
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Jiaxin holds a Master鈥檚 degree in Industrial Design from Hunan University, China. During his studies there (2018鈥�2021), he developed skills in human-centered design, interaction design, and discovered his interest in psychology-driven HCI research. In 2021, he began a second Master鈥檚 in Applied Cognitive Psychology at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. After graduating in 2022, he joined the HTI group at Eindhoven University of Technology as a PhD student, focusing on Human-Robot Interaction research. He is currently supervised by Dr. Chao Zhang, Dr. Raymond H. Cuijpers, and Prof. Dr. Wijnand A. IJsselsteijn.
